Southern Cross is a growing network of ministries located primarily across the Southern Hemisphere in Australia, New Zealand, Africa and South America.

A GROWING NETWORK

Since its inception, Southern Cross has grown to include over 200 ministries in nearly 30 nations, including some in the Northern Hemisphere. We also have links with other international Christian networks including Global Legacy, Global Awakening, Iris Ministries, Morning Star, Esperanta, Peace, Agape, Link NZ, and the International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders.

MINISTRY ORDINATION

Southern Cross is officially recognised by the Australian Government as a Christian denomination. This enables us to license and ordain ministers who can then be recognised as marriage celebrants under the Marriage Act.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Association is open to all persons in ministry (in churches and in the community) by completing an application form and is renewable on a yearly basis. While we do not require members to ascribe to a doctrinal statement, we are mainstream Christian, centred on the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and emphasise the ministry of Word and Spirit.

OUR MEMBERS

Our members come from a variety of national and church backgrounds; reformed, evangelical, Pentecostal, charismatic, holiness, and non-denominational. Our belief is that the Body of Christ centres on faith in Jesus Christ and advancing His Kingdom on earth.

SOUTHERN CROSS MEMBERSHIP

Please complete the form at the bottom of this page if you want us to contact you regarding membership. The Australian head office will administer New Zealand membership of SCAC.

Southern Cross members are entitled to a number of benefits:

  • Apostolic Reviews and Consultations: We are developing a process of Apostolic Reviews that enables our members to receive apostolic and prophetic input, to strengthen ministries and leadership teams. The four-fold process involves: input and evaluation, monitoring, self-governance and partnership.
  • Official Endorsement and Ordination: The Australian Federal Government has granted Southern Cross recognition as an official religious organisation. This enables the Association to nominate qualified persons for marriage celebrant status. We recognise God’s call to ministry through conducting ordination services for our members.
  • Regional Support Groups: Throughout Australia, and in the nations of South Africa, Kenya and Mauritius, we have established support groups where members meet regularly and minister to each other. We conduct regular mission trips to visit and encourage these support groups around the world.
  • Leadership Events and Conferences: Southern Cross hosts international conferences featuring cutting-edge speakers who equip the saints through revelatory teaching and spiritual impartation. We host Leadership Advance events in various cities that bring together members in a retreat-type setting.
  • Cutting Edge Resources: Southern Cross is committed to providing our members with advice and support with the most up to date, effective and Spirit-led resources. These include many Churchlands resources: Australian School of Ministry, Sozo, Shabar, Healing, Ministry Activation and Worship.
  • How can I join Southern Cross?
Prospective members should request and forward a completed SCAC membership form to the Southern Cross office. Upon acceptance, new members will receive a Certificate of Membership and are then entitled to all network services, discounts and benefits. Members will then be invoiced annually. Applications are welcome from any person in Christian leadership regardless of age or denominational affiliation (pastors, para–church ministries, lay persons, Christian business people, students, etc).
  • Financial Support of the Association:
The expenses of running the Network are met from membership fees, income from special events, and voluntary gifts. Membership dues are paid annually, July to June, and based on the type of membership requested.
