(the way we reach our vision and goal of developing mature believers)
“Equipping the saints for the work of ministry”
Ephesians 4:11-16, ESV
11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,
12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
THE FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY

We believe that the Five-fold Ministry is the framework to grow, build and mature the Body of Christ to continue the workings of Jesus through the lives of the saints. It is the Biblical blueprint we are given to equip people and grow the Kingdom. The Five-fold Ministry is the term referring to the five ministry roles of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher found in the book of Ephesians. We believe that the Five-fold Ministry are functions rather than titles carrying a sense of power, hierarchy and designations. Whoever is appointed to serve, whether he/she be an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor or Teacher, they are all servants. Christ Himself embodied all of these functions of the Five-fold Ministry, acting as a servant rather than one who is served, leaving His Church an example to follow, “whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant”.
OUR STRATEGY
(the methods and action plan we use to equip the saints)
We embrace the heart, function and purpose of the Five-fold Ministry within the following strategies.
• WORSHIP SERVICES
Worship services provide the opportunity for the body to come together to worship the Lord, to hear from Him about what we are to do and to fellowship with one another.
• HOME GROUPS
We come together during the week for fellowship, Bible study, prayer and worship.
• INTEREST GROUPS
Sharing Christ through social activities. Interest Groups are small groups that get together based on common interests and hobbies. It helps people to “connect” in an informal and fun way. Some examples include sports, hiking, art classes, baking, board games, etc. Interest Groups also serve as a great outreach tool.
• DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING CLASSES
Discipleship training classes provide members and regular visitors with the basic equipping to help them grow to maturity. This includes in-person and online formal Courses; Theological training through the Shiloh School of Divinity; Seminars, Bible Study Classes, etc.
• ONE-ON-ONE DISCIPLESHIP
Every mature believer should engage in one-on-one discipleship with the believers for whom he or she is responsible.
OUR VALUES
(our values are principles that undergird, influence and clarify how we do things)
Our values provide boundaries and parameters around our mission, leadership and ministry philosophy, priorities and strategy. Our values help our members and regular visitors to align their thinking and acting naturally and collectively in ways that contribute towards Shiloh’s vision.
• CENTRALITY OF CHRIST
Through the centrality of Christ emerges a community of faith defined by the story of Jesus Christ. We aim to keep Christ central in what we do. This keeps us balanced, and it helps us to not focus on the minor thing in front of us to the neglect of the greater story that we should be proclaiming to a lost world. He is categorically better and higher than anything else we may become distracted by.
• COMMUNITY
One of the most over-used and unfulfilled phrases in the church today has got to be “doing life together” (Eph 4:3, 4:16, Gal 6:2-3). God didn’t intend for us to walk through this life alone. He meant for us to share our lives with others. Together we are stronger and together we can function as the Body of Christ with every member contributing to our faith journey.
• COMPETENCE
We believe our members and regular visitors should be equipped to be competent witnesses for Christ. Christian competencies are not required FOR salvation, but once we are saved we need to be intentional in giving ourselves to grow in Christ, to study His Word, to engage in prayer and to share the Gospel message with those around us.
• COURAGE
Christian courage is the willingness to say and do what is right. To stand for Christ regardless of the earthly cost, because God promises to help us and save us on account of Christ.
SPIRITUAL AND EMOTIONAL RESPONSE
(what we aim to achieve)
We want to ignite an ever-deepening desire in the hearts of people for Christ and His Kingdom, to the Glory of the Father and through and by the working of the Holy Spirit.
CHARACTERISTICS OF MATURE BELIEVERS
(know them by their fruits)
• MATURITY IN LOVING GOD
(loving God include God’s Word, prayer, and worship)
• MATURITY IN LOVING ONE ANOTHER
(loving one another includes fellowship and discipleship)
• MATURITY IN CHARACTER AND SELF CONTROL
(living within the Biblical framework in character, being good stewards of self, family, and resources)
OUR POSITIONING
(who will benefit from being part of us)

Shiloh Fellowship is for people seeking a deeper understanding of God’s Word, and a stronger relationship with Christ, so that they may be equipped to continue the work of ministry that Jesus started. We want to see believers be shining lights to this world, with our hearts filled with His joy and peace. Because Jesus lives in us and through believers (Galatians 2:20), we have been called to live as Jesus lived (1 John 2:6) and continue the works He began on Earth (John 14:16). Because Christ lives in us and through us, God accomplishes His purposes on Earth through His people (Philippians 2:13).
